Season 4: Bee a Hero (Ep.69)
I’m excited to share another season of buzzy conversations and inspiring stories with you. This year, our theme is “Bee a Hero”—a reminder that each of us has the power to protect and champion native and wild bees. The Bee’s Knees exists to celebrate and elevate native and wild bees. Their role in biodiversity, food security, and ecosystem health cannot be overstated, and each episode shines a light on the people working tirelessly to protect them.
This season, we’ll explore urgent challenges and hopeful solutions:
- The impact of data centers and AI on native bees in Australia
- How pesticides affect ground‑nesting bees
- What happens when honey bees are removed from an island ecosystem
- The transformation of a landfill into a pollinator paradise
And that’s just the beginning. The first episode of Season 4 drops February 3, 2026. Until then, catch up on past episodes and subscribe to The Hive, our quarterly newsletter. And I’d love to hear from you! Did a particular episode resonate with you? Is there a topic you’d like us to explore? Have you come across native bee news we should know about? You can reach me anytime. I’m always eager to connect with fellow bee advocates.
Thank you, as always, for your care and commitment. Together, let’s make Season 4 our most impactful yet.

Season 4 of The Bee’s Knees is launching in February, and this season, I’m inviting you to Bee a Hero. Because being a bee hero doesn’t mean wearing a cape. It means planting a flower. Asking a question. Sharing a story. It means noticing the buzz in your backyard and choosing to care.
In Season 4, I’ll be talking with scientists, conservationists, and everyday bee advocates about the surprising moments that shaped their work — and the discoveries that keep them inspired.
And as always, I’ll end each episode with one simple question: “What’s one discovery that made you feel like a bee hero; like you were really making a difference?”
To all my listeners — thank you. Your curiosity, your care, and your willingness to learn make this community what it is. If you enjoy the show, please take a moment to like, follow, and share it with someone who might be ready to Bee a Hero too. Visit thebeeknees.website to join The Hive our quarterly newsletter and catch-up on any episodes from our previous three seasons. I’ll be back on February 3. Until then, how will you bee a hero?
